Adam joined Hackenbacker in August 2007, after completing a BMus (Hons) Music with Computer Sound Design from the University of Surrey.
Despite his relatively short time in the industry Adam’s talent and flair means that he has already track layed sound effects for some of our most acclaimed work, and thinks the best part about working at Hackenbacker is the intimate working environment with creative and enthusiastic people.
In his spare time, Adam likes playing the cello, composing and cooking.

Alexander Fielding joined Hackenbacker after graduating with a BA(hons) degree in Sound Technology at LIPA - Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts.
Alex relocated to London in order to work with us in 2006. A huge film fan, since 2007 he has been the Assistant Re-Recording Mixer in Studio One. Alex, in addition to his role as Nigel’s mix assistant, plays a major part in ensuring the prolific and varied output of Studio One is well managed and organised to the highest standard.

Alex Sawyer is a dialogue editor at Hackenbacker and works on a huge variety of shows. He joined in April 2003.
Previously, he studied music with recording at Kingston-Upon-Thames, then went travelling to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and America for a year. The best thing about Hackenbacker in his opinion is the quality of the soundtrack that the clients leave with.
In his spare time, Alex likes to play the drums, go to the gym, and play badminton.

Chris joined the team in June 2010. Previously he worked for Dolby Laboratories as the ‘Film Sound Consultant’ for London. During his 7 years at Dolby, he worked with production companies, laboratories, cinemas and distributors on over 300 films.
During the Summer, Chris is a keen skydiver and motorbiker and in the Winter he enjoys skiing and drinking red wine!
He enjoys working at Hackenbacker because everyone works so well together to produce outstanding sound. And being a small and friendly company they really look after and pay attention to each of their clients.

Darren joined Hackenbacker in 2000 after studying at the School of Audio Engineering in London. He started as a runner and since specialising in sound effects design and editing he’s never looked back!
Darren is one of the longest serving members of the team and in the 10 years that he has been at Hackenbacker has contributed to every single episode of Spooks deservedly receiving numerous BAFTA nominations for his work on this and other successful programmes.

Hackenbacker’s newest team member is Fred. He joined in 2011 as a runner and has immediately made a good impression on our clients with his welcoming and friendly approach and his “nothing is too much trouble” philosophy.
Before coming to Hackenbacker Fred graduated from LIPA with a BA(Hons) in Sound Technology. In his spare time, Fred likes watching films, playing video games and recording sounds.

James is Hackenbacker’s Studio Manager and is also the dubbing mixer in Studio Two. He started as a junior maintenance engineer whilst also studying electronic engineering.
He’s worked on a huge number of projects while at Hackenbacker and has been nominated for numerous awards.
He thinks the best thing about Hackenbacker is the friendly but professional approach to work. Nothing is ever too much trouble! During his spare time, James looks after his kids, cycles, skiis, watches movies and enjoys camping.

Jordan has been a runner at Hackenbacker since March 2010. He previously graduated from Southampton Solent University with a Bsc Hons Degree in Music Studio Technology.
Outside of work, Jordan is a keen musician, writing and recording his own music whilst getting out to see live music as often as possible.
He enjoys the atmosphere at Hackenbacker and the professional but friendly attitude to fit clients needs both technically and comfortably.

Jules joined in October 2007. Having previously worked in many other studios she has a wealth of experience in the world of post-production.
Jules looks after all aspects of our client’s needs from bookings to logistics and everything in between! She’s Hackenbacker’s fixer and ensures everything in the studio flows smoothly.

Keith is Hackenbacker’s Foley Engineer and joined the company in July 2008. He previously studied Music Technology at University and then was a runner at another studio in Soho before coming to Hackenbacker.
He enjoys the fun and friendly atmosphere and the great opportunities at the company. It also gives him the chance to record Foley for some great Film and TV programs. In his spare time, Keith likes listening to music, watching films, occasional exercise and video games.

Nigel Heath founded Hackenbacker in the mid 80s (he is keen to add that he was very young!). Nigel’s career started in music studios where he was fortunate to find himself working with some amazing artists and mentors.
Hackenbacker was originally a sound transfer company with sound editing and mixing added within five years of it starting operating. Nigel is proud to have worked on many ground breaking and landmark projects and to this day enjoys working on projects sometimes seen as a little ‘out of the ordinary’!
He is a keen promoter of bringing new talent into the industry with the correct training and is proud of the unique family atmosphere at Hackenbacker.

Oliver joined Hackenbacker back in 2002 as a runner and after 8 years’ hard work, he’s now dubbing mixer and ADR recordist in Studio 3.
He studied a BA Hons music technology at Rose Bruford College and worked as a sound trainee with sound recordist Garth Marshall.
He thinks the best thing about Hackenbacker is that it’s like a family and everyone shares the same passion for sound. In his spare time he likes to have fun!

The legendary Smudger joined the team in June 2008, with over 35 years’ experience in the industry. He’s worked in various studios during that time and is one of the best technical managers in London.
He likes that Hackenbacker offers a very personal service to its clients and that they are very well serviced by the studio.
Smudger looks after everything technical in Hackenbacker. After work, he likes listening to Radio Caroline and spending time with his family (but not necessarily in that order)!

Stuart has been with Hackenbacker since May 2008. His career path has been a slightly strange one! He started in Finance before realizing his passion was in Sound. He started by doing a HND in Electronics and progressed through the ranks and at one point ran a small music recording studio in London.
Stuart thinks that to get any project sounding really good you’ve got to have people who really care about what they’re working on and love the work they do, and Hackenbacker do this really well. He also loves snowboarding & playing tennis, the rest of his time is taken up looking after his partner and his cat!

Tom joined Hackenbacker in 2011 after gaining valuable experience at other post houses within London. He’s part of our dialogue editing team and also enjoys working on short films (a recent one has just been to Cannes).
Tom loves the dedication and passion from everyone and thinks the warm and friendly environment that clients enjoy at Hackenbacker is the reason they keep coming back. When he’s not working, Tom enjoys cycling, going to the gym, comedy nights and live music events.
