This year has been very busy for us at Hackenbacker. We have recently finished the audio postproduction on Beyond The Sea-directed and starring Kevin Spacey.
Beyond The Sea is the bi op musical of the American singer Bobby Darin. The film follows Bobby's life from a young boy to his untimely death at the age of 36. The film was a unique challenge for us. There are many musical numbers in the film, some conventional with Bobby singing on stage in night-clubs, but there are also pieces sung within real life situations-think singing in the rain!.
The sound design was also a challenge for us as the film moves to and fro from Bobby's life as a boy and Bobby's
life as a man, with the two worlds merging on many occasions. Kevin has spent the last
12 years working on the project and both he and Hackenbacker are very proud of the final soundtrack.
